Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy is offered by Erica B. Saypol, Ph.D., LLC.

Individual psychotherapy typically involves weekly or twice weekly appointments with Dr. Saypol that last 45 minutes each. Dr. Saypol has training in a variety of approaches (e.g., psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy). She draws upon these varied approaches, her clinical experience, and her unique individual style in her work with patients. She strives to provide a safe, confidential, supportive and empathic environment and to develop effective therapeutic relationships with each individual patient.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

Children and teenagers have normal periods of emotional and behavioral difficulty. These periods can often be transient and part of typical development. However, if you feel that your child or teenager's mood or behavior is repetitive or persistent; if you find that your family is struggling to deal with these problems alone, it is important to have your child evaluated by a mental health professional.

Contemporary Care offers an array of innovative therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents and families in a warm and compassionate setting. We provide treatment that addresses a wide range of developmental, social, emotional and behavioral issues including:

  • ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety, Fears, Phobias
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Social/Interpersonal Difficulties
  • Life Transitions
  • Divorce Reaction
  • School Refusal
  • Behavioral Problems
  • Trauma
  • Substance Abuse

In addition to individual, group, family counseling and parent consultation, we provide psychological evaluations to assess cognitive/intellectual and personality functioning as well as educational and academic achievement.

Psychological Assessment

At Contemporary Care, we provide psychological evaluations to assess cognitive/intellectual and personality functioning as well as educational and academic achievement. A psychological assessment can be used to evaluate giftedness or cognitive ability. The information gained from an evaluation is used to understand an individual's strengths and deficits, clarify a diagnosis and inform treatment goals for psychotherapy. It can provide information regarding underlying factors that may be contributing to problems in relationships, work and school.

Additionally we provide neuropsychological assessment when brain-based impairment in cognitive function or behavior is suspected.

We offer testing for children, adolescents and adults.
